Craig Bonn

Managing Partner of Harley Capital LLC

For more than thirty years, Craig Bonn has worked across alternative investments, private equity, and capital strategy. His career includes building investment platforms, leading client-focused initiatives, and identifying growth opportunities in industries ranging from technology and healthcare to energy and consumer markets. He serves as the Managing Partner of Harley Capital LLC, an independent broker-dealer, and the Managing Member of Edge Partners LLC, a firm built around pre-IPO investment opportunities through Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). His track record features early participation in companies like Facebook, Databricks, and Anthropic.

Education and Early Foundations

Craig was born in New York and later pursued higher education at the University of Hartford, where he earned his undergraduate degree. After graduation, he began his professional path at Lehman Brothers. Lehman was deeply involved in institutional finance at the time, offering sophisticated services to global markets. This environment served as a foundation for him, shaping his skills in risk assessment, market analysis, and client advisory.

Through this experience, he also began to see where traditional financial instruments could be limiting. He realized many investors, especially high-net-worth individuals and institutions, needed alternatives beyond standard offerings to achieve more substantial returns and diversified exposure. These observations encouraged him to look toward nontraditional strategies that would later become the center of his professional focus.

Harley Capital LLC

With years of professional growth behind him, Craig Bonn launched Harley Capital LLC. As a founder and managing partner, he sought to establish a firm prioritizing trust, transparency, and access to opportunities not always available through larger institutions.

Harley Capital quickly developed into a boutique investment company serving high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and trusts. The firm goes beyond traditional brokerage activities, offering curated access to private equity and pre-IPO investment opportunities. Craig has guided Harley Capital, emphasizing building strong client relationships, long-term planning, and responsible diversification.

Edge Partners LLC and SPVs

Craig expanded his work further through Edge Partners LLC. As Managing Member, he focused on building an efficient framework for SPV-based investing. This model allows accredited investors to pool resources and participate in pre-IPO and late-stage venture deals.

Edge Partners emphasizes industries shaping the future, including artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, and advanced software. The firm provides flexibility and scalability by operating under a Delaware Series LLC structure. The strategy is straightforward: secure securities in high-growth private companies and hold them until they reach a liquidity event, such as an acquisition or an initial public offering.

Guiding Principles in Investing

Craig’s approach to investing is based on discipline and structure. He highlights three principles: risk management, timing, and long-term focus. For him, a deal's framework is often as important as the company's quality. He favors vehicles such as SPVs, which combine investor access with structured protection.

He also values early identification. Many of his investments target companies still in the private stages but showing strong signs of innovation and growth. Craig believes these opportunities often deliver the most favorable return profiles.

Broadening Investment Interests

Beyond pre-IPO markets, Craig has participated in the broader set of alternative investments. These include natural gas mineral funds, real estate partnerships, and specialty financing structures. Through Harley Capital and related ventures, he has been involved with initiatives such as WhiteHawk Energy, a natural gas minerals fund.

His portfolio includes Outstanding Foods, Braemar Hotels and Resorts, Prospect Capital, and Urica Therapeutics investments. Each reflects a careful evaluation of industry conditions, company performance, and larger economic trends.

Philanthropy and Community Work

Alongside his professional achievements, Craig maintains a commitment to philanthropy. He supports organizations such as Pink Aid and Fred’s Team, which direct efforts toward cancer research and health-related causes. His involvement includes both financial support and active participation in fundraising initiatives. By encouraging awareness within his professional and social circles, he helps bring attention to causes that are important to him personally.

Personal Life

Craig has lived in Westport, Connecticut, for over 25 years. He and his wife have made their home in this community, appreciating its family life balance and accessibility.

Away from finance, Craig dedicates time to running. He has completed five marathons, including the New York Marathon. Traveling is another pursuit he values, as it provides perspective on global economies and cultures, often complementing his work in international markets.

From his first role at Lehman Brothers to his Harley Capital and Edge Partners leadership, Craig Bonn has built a career consistently focusing on alternative investments and structured growth opportunities. His work balances professional dedication, community involvement, and personal discipline.
